Motley Claude plugin

The Motley Claude plugin connects Claude to your Motley workspace and allows you to create documents directly in a Claude conversation, without having to open the Motley UI.

How it works

When you ask Claude to build a report, it:

  1. Queries your connected Motley sources through the semantic layer
  2. Assembles the document according to your request
  3. Returns a link to the resulting Motley document and a Markdown version of the report inline in the conversation
  4. The resulting Motley document can then be exported in your desired format, see Export & Present

The Motley document is fully auditable and you can open it in Motley UI to inspect every query, block and chart configuration. The inline Markdown version lets you keep reading and iterating without leaving Claude.

Components

The plugin works through two components that both need to be active:

motley-skills: a Claude plugin installed from the Claude marketplace. Contains skills to work with Motley documents, including skills for generating presentations in your brand design.

Motley MCP connector: Motley MCP server that comes with the plugin and is configurable via Claude Workspace connectors settings.
